Production Noise Logging Tool
The Production Noise Logging Tool uses a piezzoelectric crystal to detect downhole audio frequencies and amplitude variations due to fluid and gas movement. The audio sound from the tool through a surface module allows the operator to monitor well conditions.
The Production Noise Tool is normally run in combination with the Casing Collar Locator (CCL) and a temperature sensor. A typical operation is to record the temperature log with a casing collar locator during descent and the noise log incrementally during ascent.
