Petal Basket Plug
The Petal Basket Plug (TTPB) is a cost effective, permanent, but drillable plug installed through tubing restrictions and set in larger casing. The plug functions as a platform upon which a cement (or thermosetting plastic resin) plug is built. The differential pressure rating is dependent on the height of the cement plug.
The TTPB incorporates case hardened slips which lock in place once the plug is deployed, unlike some other "air-bag" through-tubing systems.
The cement mix is a special cement blend formulated for thru-tubing plugback operations. The slurry provides repeatable performance, reliable dumpability, controlled gel strength development, minimum (but safe) curing times, and uncompromised plug strength.
The Thermosetting Plastic resin is a low viscosity, thermosetting liquid plastic resin which contains no solids, therefore, it migrates easily to fill channels. Various additives control the setting and/or mobility times, including one which increases the bonding of the plastic to the casing and sand grains.
The thermosetting Plastic resin can be dump bailed and bullheaded into the formation to squeeze off the perforations.
FEATURES
- Case hardened slips.
- Expanding packer unit.
