Motorized Unitary Logging Equipment Tractor (MULE)

The Motorized Unitary Logging Equipment-tractor (MULE) is a field-proven downhole tractor, designed to deployed tools and equipment along horizontal and highly deviated wells, using standard 7/32 wireline. The high efficiency DC motor and drive system minimizes power requirements, allowing the control and monitoring of its operation. An overlay of head tension and tractor load curves provides the operator with valuable information about the tractor performance and well conditions.

Features

Proven Technology Successful operation over a distance of 8,300 m.

Efficient, Powerful DC Motor The MULE is designed to push the tool string along horizontal sections of up to 4,000 m, while drawing less than 1.4A at 600V.

Standard 7/32" cable The low power requirement means that the MULE can run on a mono-conductor and does not need any special cables.

Outside Diameter 2 1/8" The slim tool can be deployed through most expected restrictions, yet will still operate in casing sizes up to 9 5/8".

Simultaneous Data Transmission and Tractoring Data can be sent to the surface while the MULE is operating.

Software Simulation package The complete operation can be pre-planned with loads and head tensions being accurately predicted.

Reverse Tractor and Fail-safe In order to maximize job confidence, the tractor is designed with fail-safe devices, and can also move in the up-hole direction.
